It Started Here

Welcome to Wunderfall 26. A lot of what ElevateUT does traces back to this hillside, and these weekends have been part of it from the start.

2022. Volunteers built the Wunder in about six weeks, more than 2,000 hours of work. That October the first Wunderfall drew 88 players and sent $1,294 to Friends of Wasatch for the new course.

2023. ElevateUT became a 501(c)(3) and Wunderment joined the calendar. We pitched Salt Lake County on upgrading Creekside, Ed Headrick's 1982 course. The county put about $200,000 into it, and rounds went up 54% the next year.

2024. River Bottoms opened in Draper, designed by ElevateUT. We helped get Art Dye's redesign started and gave American Fork guidance on the grant. Wunderfall raised $10,642 toward the Wunder's grant match.

It Started Here, Cont'd

2025. The Wunder had been awarded $121,000 in state and county grants, for improvements that include a parking lot and a welcome kiosk. Weekly sanctioned leagues started. Book Cliffs opened in East Carbon, built by the Trostle family and volunteers in partnership with ElevateUT.

2026. Wunderment drew a record 110 players. Then came a PDGA Major, the US Women's Disc Golf Championships, played at Brighton, Creekside, Dragonfly and Roots. Dragonfly and Roots were improved for it, and Roots kept 19 championship baskets. Mehraban got new signs, and Manti signed on for an 18-hole design.

How It Works

One volunteer-built course has grown into work on ten courses across Utah, with no paid staff behind it.

Every grant we have won required a local match, in cash, volunteer hours or both. Volunteer hours count toward those matches, which is why we ask you to log them.

Next up is Manti, where the first nine holes go in this September.

Part of every entry this weekend is a donation to ElevateUT. Thank you for being here.
