The Story

Valley Regional Park has been a staple of Salt Lake Valley disc golf since 2002. The 18-hole course is built within a large municipal park in Taylorsville, offering a split personality: the front 9 winds through mature trees with defined grass fairways, while the back 9 opens up into wider fields with less tree coverage. Summer months bring trimmed weeds on the back half, and multiple basket placements across most holes keep the course feeling fresh for regulars.

The course has earned a strong 4.06 UDisc rating from over 3,300 reviews, making it one of the more popular and well-regarded park courses in the valley. Its accessibility and variety — short ace-run holes mixed with longer open shots — draw players of all skill levels year-round.

What Players Say

alexhallumsdisc★★★★

Fun 18 hole track. Park-style course. Most shots are around 300ft. Some ace runs mixed in. A few longer holes on the back 9. Cool to see a few elevated baskets. Mainly flat land. Nothing too much to complain about.

nordy1226★★★★★

It's a very open course. I'm thinking this time of year, June, it might be windier than most months. With that being said, bring something stable and maybe a fairway driver if you don't have distance with a mid and putter.

marshallarts★★★★

Classic par-3 park course. Enough trees to make you hit a fairway, but few enough that you can scramble from almost anywhere you land. Good course!

ribboy58★★★★

Great course in a public park. If you go early you'll have no issues with walkers, but on nicer days you might have to wait a little for pedestrians.

nvsevcsik★★★★

Fun shorter park course with a variety of pin placements that can make it more challenging. Wind can be a factor.

Maintenance

Taylorsville City Parks handles mowing and general park upkeep. The course benefits from being in a well-maintained regional park with restrooms, drinking water, and paved parking. Reviewers have noted that signage could use updating, and some basket areas experience muddy conditions. The back 9 weeds are trimmed seasonally during summer months.
